July 18th Portuguese Food & Wine Class

Portugese Apple Cake

2 cups flour

2 cups Sugar

1 cup oil

½ cup milk

4 eggs

3 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla

3 cups ( 6-8 apples or pears)

3 Tbsp Sugar

3 Tbsp Cinnamon

Pre-heat oven to 350F.

Mix first 7 ingredients in mixer. Pour half of batter into 8X13 baking pan. Cover with apples/pears. Spread remaining batter on top. Sprinkle with sugar & cinnamon.

Bake about 30 minutes or until wooden toothpick comes out clean
Serve with ice cream.
